Past week 08/01/2010 - 14/01/2010 characterized by significant growth in a planned power consumption relative to the previous week in both price zones, the main cause of which can be called an increase in demand by the end of New Year"s holidays, according to a press release, NP "The Market". At the same time there was an increase of indices of equilibrium prices in the two price zones.

Some increase in electricity planning, and growth indices of equilibrium prices marked in comparison with the same period last year. These changes could be caused by, inter alia, by reducing the share of developing hydropower in the structure of the planned development of the two price zones and because of the growth of tariffs for fuel from January 1, 2010.

Over the past week planned power consumption compared to the previous week rose by 6,2%, but compared to the same period last year to 4,9%.

In 16 of the 64 subjects of the federation, united in the price band of the wholesale market, noted the planned reduction in power consumption compared to the same period last year.

Over the past week in the structure of the planned development of the European part of Russia and the Urals significant changes were observed. This compared to the same period last year decreased the proportion of the planned hydropower generation by 1,3 percentage points, which was offset mainly by an increase in the proportion of the planned development of nuclear power plants.

In the structure of the planned development of Siberia, the proportion of hydro generation fell for the week by 0.8 percentage points and decreased relative to last year"s value by 6 percentage points. In the European part of Russia and the Urals to the power station had 72.65% generation, hydro and nuclear power - 6,54% and 20,81% respectively. In Siberia, making the structure formed as follows: TPP - 66.12%, hydro - 33.88%.

As at January 14, 2010, the total debt market participants amounted to 37.8 billion rubles, an increase from 31 December 2009 to 7.9 billion rubles. By price zones, an increase in debt at 6.6 billion rubles, on non-price areas - an increase of 1.3 billion rubles. As at 22 December 2009, total debt in the retail market before guaranteeing suppliers from 15 December fell by 3.7 billion rubles and amounted to 101.9 billion rubles.
