Modern Russia"s economy requires orderly and real system of technical regulation, on this today, said President Dmitry Medvedev at a meeting of the Commission for the Modernization and Technological Development.

According to the President, technical regulations and standards are the key instruments that determine the competitiveness of the economy and its innovative appeal. They allow manufacturers to Russia"s high-tech products to compete successfully in today"s global marketplace.

During the meeting, the President instructed the Government to intensify work in the field of technical regulation, determine the profile agency which will deal with the security standards of production and labor protection, and to report back in two months on the progress.

According to Dmitry Medvedev, in these processes really interested business representatives, who have to deal with the creation and sale of its high-tech products, and who have to compete in this market. "Therefore, I believe that our Russia business, our executive Russia"s business should take part in the creation of appropriate national standards" - said Medvedev.

In addition, the president believes is necessary to think that the costs of enterprises to standardize could well be taken into account in the cost of production of goods and services. "In the end, standardization should lead to lower costs, and this is a direct benefit to our business", - says Dmitry Medvedev.

In concluding the meeting, the president also said: "As this trend or direction of development in the near future I would like to mention the need for harmonization of laws, rules and regulations within the Customs Union and Common Economic Space, as well as actions that designed to effectively support the export of domestic goods.
